About ActiveJoints.com

This site contains research I have assembled on hip replacement surgery while studying options for my own treatment.

A few years ago I was told I needed hip replacement surgery due to severe osteoarthritis in my hips. Because of my young age (36 at that time) and active lifestyle I sought an alternative to the standard metal-on-plastic articulated hip replacement implant. This site contains much of that research plus the latest developments.

I am not a medical doctor and if you are considering surgery a decision about your own treatment should only be made in consultation with your doctor and surgeon. Hopefully this will help you be prepared to ask informed questions of them.
